Celebrating Day of the Dead!
The Day of the Dead (el Día de los Muertos), is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration. A blend of Mesoamerican ritual, European religion and Spanish culture, the holiday is celebrated each year from October 31-November 2.
El Día de Muertos es una festividad mexicana donde las familias dan la bienvenida a las almas de sus familiares fallecidos para una breve reunión que incluye comida, bebida y celebración. Una mezcla de rituales mesoamericanos, religión europea y cultura española, la festividad se celebra todos los años del 31 de octubre al 2 de noviembre.

The Air Quality Index continues to improve so outdoor practices and activities will be allowed this afternoon.
El índice de calidad del aire continúa mejorando, por lo que se permitirán prácticas y actividades al aire libre esta tarde.
District officials have been monitoring the air quality conditions since yesterday (9/12) and will throughout the week using https://www.airnow.gov. Currently the rating is classified as “unhealthy” so at this time building administrators have been notified that all recesses and PE will be held indoors until further notice. District officials will continue to monitor the air quality conditions and will make adjustments to practices as needed. Please refer to your specific school websites for details related to your child’s activities.
Los oficiales del distrito han estado monitoreando las condiciones de la calidad del aire desde ayer (9/12) y lo harán durante toda la semana usando https://www.airnow.gov. Actualmente, la clasifican como "insalubre para grupos sensibles". Debido a esto, todos los recreos y Educación Física se llevarán a cabo en el interior hasta nuevo aviso. Families with athletes remember to call your provider or local clinic to schedule your Annual Well Care visit. This will include the sports physical if asked for.
